I first came to Kenya from Europe for a professional conference, but I also wanted to fulfil a long-held dream of learning kitesurfing. I discovered the breathtaking beauty of Diani Beach—its endless white sands, warm Indian Ocean and the relaxed rhythm of coastal life.
What I expected was an unforgettable holiday. What I didn't expect was to meet Abdul.
He was my kitesurf instructor—a passionate Kenyan who had spent years sharing his love of the ocean with visitors from around the world. Lesson after lesson, we discovered that despite growing up on different continents and in different cultures, we shared the same values: kindness, respect, adventure, family and a deep love for the sea.
Somewhere between the wind, the waves, long walks on the beach and countless sunsets, our friendship became a love story.
As our relationship grew, so did another dream.
We wanted to create something together that reflected everything we loved about Diani Beach: its beauty, its people and its incredible ocean. Not just another watersports centre, but a place where visitors would feel welcomed like friends, experience the highest standards of safety and quality, and discover the genuine warmth of Kenyan hospitality.
That is how Hakuna Matata Watersports was born.

🌊 Kinga – Founder & Director
An international lawyer with more than 20 years of experience working with organisations such as the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, I have always believed in building partnerships that create opportunities for people. Hakuna Matata Watersports allows me to combine my professional experience with my passion for the ocean. As a keen kitesurfer and SUP enthusiast, my goal is to create a place where every guest feels welcome, every activity is safe, and local talent has the opportunity to shine.
🪁 Abdul – Managing Director and Kitesurf Instructor
Born and raised on the Kenyan coast, Abdul has dedicated his life to the ocean. An experienced kitesurf instructor, he knows the winds, tides and reefs of Diani Beach like few others. His patience, positive energy and passion for teaching make every lesson enjoyable, whether you're stepping onto a board for the very first time or looking to improve your skills.
🚤 Ibrahim – Jet Ski Specialist
With years of experience on the water, Ibrahim is our jet ski expert. He knows the coastline, the conditions and the machines inside out, ensuring every ride is not only exciting but also safe and professionally guided. Whether you're looking for adventure or simply want to discover the beauty of Diani Beach from the sea, you're in excellent hands.

Jambia is an important part of our team, helping with the day-to-day running of our activities and assisting guests whenever needed. Always friendly and ready to lend a hand, he helps create the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that defines Hakuna Matata Watersports.
